BNI-Excellence chapter had a fantastic Visitors Day on March 9, 2012. A total of 45 visitors came with 68 people in attendance that morning. Many connections were made, some even extending beyond Singapore’s borders.

8 Feb 2012 – It was Retro Night – Business Matching at the Victory Hall in Hersing Hub, Toa Payoh Lor 5. According to Tony Teng, Executive Director (Northern Region, BNI Singapore) there were close to 250 attendees that evening. It was a fun-filled event with lots of colour as some were dressed in costumes that brought back memories of the 60’s. At the same time, there was business matching, an opportunity for participants to present to others at their tables in the hope of receiving useful contacts and even qualified referrals.

The BNI Eastern region celebrated their BIG Breakfast Event entitled Network like a dragon at YMCA Orchard on 9th February 2012, This is in line with the International Networking Week (INW) which runs annually between 6th February to 10th February, of which BNI is a strong supporter worldwide. Networking like a dragon involved diplaying strong traits of the revered dragon in the Chinese Zodiac. Members and visitors were encouraged to introduce themselves with strong dragon traits and to generated referrals in a dragon-line formation.

Participants were also treated to a Feng Shui talk by Feng Shui Master Edwaard Liu from Izaq Chapter. The event was well received. Visitors were, in particular were excited and enthusiastic. One visitor remarked that had she known how fantastic this event was, she should have invited 3 more of her friends to witness what she saw that morning!

In line with 2012 being the year of the Olympics in London, BNI Singapore (Far East) Executive Director Ong Kuan Kuan decided on the theme of Business Olympics for the International Networking week. The Olympics connotes team spirit, competitiveness and achieving one’s goal which are also attributes necessary for a successful business.

Members and guests were treated to a series of Ice breakers related to sporting activities while one chapter, namely Pinnacle, turned up in full Sports attire to complement the theme. That is the spirit of the members.

There was a total of 120 attendees, with some turning up as early as 6.30am to support this once a year activity. With the event being held at the Singapore Flyer, the early birds enjoyed the sunrise and the beautiful view of the tourist sights of Singapore.

Many deserving members were awarded book prizes for their contributions and visitors had a chance to familiarize themselves with the BNI system.

The highlight of the event was the business referral passing which included one referral of $140,000 which was completed among many other referrals.

Everyone had a field day getting to know each other in the most fun and exciting way. As usual, it culminated with the visitors orientation by individual chapters and all in all, it was a successful and memorable event.
